− Was given a room that had a conjoining room. No fault of theirs but the kids in that room were up from 630am and it was impossible to sleep. I got in late and couldnt get in for around 10 minutes as noone was at reception & the towels were clean but stained.

− Cleaning smell was very strong
Had very comfortable stay in 2 very nice rooms. We have been to Chancellor on Hobson 5-6 times now.
9.0They have finally had a bit of an upgrade in some rooms and just a refurbishment in others. The upgrade we had a week before this one was quite unique, as the bed was fitted into and alcove with glass sliding doors to keep out the noise of traffic. (which was already acceptable)
− A unit to put our bags on so you are not bending to ground level all the time. I had recommended another couple book in as well and the manager was too miserable to give the parking free for the night. That couple also recommended another couple as well so indirectly, I was responsible for 2 extra rooms hired out on top of ours.

9.0It was lovely. Very well kept, the room seemed new and had everything we needed, except for scissors and a lower profile pillow option.
− The pool had a funny smell. Everything else was great.

Please note that The Chancellor on Hobson requires NZD 150 credit card pre-authorization or cash deposit upon check-in to cover any incidental charges. This will be collected by credit card, debit card or cash. You will be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full by the same method of deposit payment, subject to an inspection of the room. Pre-Authorisations - Under normal circumstances, banks should be releasing this hold when the pre-authorisation has been cancelled by us. Occasionally some banks are unable to release the hold immediately and may reflect on your account for 4 - 7 working days (depending on the bank of issue). The hold will then automatically disappear from your account meaning you would not see money coming in - the pending transaction would go away.
